Harvested in mid-September from a small vineyard nestled directly behind our home, the 2023 Backyard Zinfandel is a true expression of our land. With Northern-facing exposure, these head-trained vines develop deep, dark fruit characteristics, resulting in a wine rich with aromas of boysenberry, blueberry, and baking spice. On the palate, layers of blackberry jam, cinnamon, and a subtle peppery kick unfold in a luxuriously smooth finish. Fermentation was intentionally stopped to preserve a touch of residual sugar, enhancing its luscious, jammy profile. Whether paired with BBQ ribs, pulled pork tacos, or a simple evening under the stars, this dangerously drinkable Zinfandel is made for moments of pure enjoyment.
